We’re holding our bi-monthly public meeting on Wednesday, September 25, from 6 to 8 PM at the Monroe County Public Library.
Friends of Lake Monroe is entering into a new phase. We will soon begin developing a watershed management plan for the lake. This work is made possible by a grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
During this meeting, we will be explaining what a watershed management plan is and how you can help us develop that plan as well as reach out to the public to increase awareness. Those interested in volunteering will be able to sign up to attend the training for water quality sampling. Volunteers can also sign up to help with graphic design, developing educational materials, and plan and assist with events.
