New to paddling? Join Friends of Lake Monroe and David Rupp of IndiGo Birding to learn the basics of kayaking on this morning trip from Pine Grove State Recreation Area. This event is FREE for community members who have never been out on Lake Monroe thanks to generous sponsorship from the Sassafras Audubon Society. David Rupp will guide the tour and provide the use of boats, paddles, and PFDs for those who need them. No experience necessary. Participants should wear proper paddling attire and bring their own snacks and hydration. (Dry bags suggested for non-waterproof gear). Trip will leave from Pine Grove State Recreation Area about 20 minutes east of Bloomington (7699 E Pine Grove Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401).
